Corte Brown: Blue Belt

pict0041.jpg

Corte studying the martial arts since 02, mid summer, started with no dominated style of Judo. Judo being the grappling, throwing, slamming, tripping, and just all out dangerous art then, was his first love and how he came into the Martial arts world. He studied that for a solid year until he crossed pathes with Mr. Ealey one day in high school drama class. Judo was a great close range fighting style but not knowing how to strike was a great weakness in his gameplan.
Corte, since early year of 06, has greatly been affected by the Brazilian aspect of the Martial Arts world, the key being, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He find pretty much everything about the art to be what he's been wanting out of the Martial arts world. Groundfighting, takedowns, submissions, the complete science of it all just phathoms his mind to an awe. He came across it all watching Master Rorion Gracie and his brother, well known through out the world, Master Royce Gracie. At first he didnt really even know who he was until he saw hours upon hours of Gracie action. He prefers to only grapple with any striker, because grappling a grappler in a real life situation wont cut it.

Noticing that his grappling game is where he's strongest at, Mr. Ealey ran a very important idea past him and a few others who were in the meeting. He and Mr. Ealey both decided to start all over again from scratch, and follow up on Anshu Hayes' To Shin Do.  Mr. Hayes being the brilliant man he is, made sure that, if anyone wanted to learn, he'd make it possible, thus Mr. Ealey and himself both ordered To Shin Do, Mountains of Strength. They trained 3 to 4 times a week, for near 5 months. Mr. Ealey passed his belt test successfully. About a week later, so did he.

Joe Bartolini: White Belt

Joseph Aldo Bartolina, (affectionately known as Yama amongst his closest friends, for his power and tall stature), hails from the artic-like state of Alaska and has been studying To Shin Do since early July of 2007.  He is grasping firmly the Earth Command Stability curriculum, and it seems to be his natural element.  Through his previous studies of martial arts he has proven himself surprisingly limber, quick, and powerful, and looks forward to improving leaps and bounds through his study of An-Shu's legacy.  Good luck, Yama-san!

Scott Ealey: Green Belt/PNC founder

ohmygod.jpg

Scott T. Ealey has been studying martial arts for 14 years of his life, starting at the age of 7.  Throughout his career in the warrior ways, he dabbled and studied many different cultures and martial approaches in both competition based, and classical self defense martial arts.  In said pursuit, he studies and can speak conversational Japanese, is working on Cantonese, and speaks Spanish with Castilian clarity.

He first found out about To Shin Do through rumors in the American Bujinkan Community.  Stephen K. Hayes was known by many members as a teacher who taught Budo Taijutsu in a taboo method: that being, translating classical Budo Taijutsu into modern application.  Many Budo Taijutsu practitioners were actually satisfied with the idea that they were using an application of ninja principles tailored for armored warriors of feudal Japan, to combat the quick, ugly, and ever increasing violence of today's world.

Well Scott had decided they would be the only ones who were satisfied, and tried out one of Hayes' long distance programs.  After experiencing the emmense knowledge and matchless martial tutoring of Hayes', (leading him to earn a Togakure ryu Ninpo Taijutsu Classical Diploma), Scott knew he had found the most effective and versatile martial art in America, today.  Holding yudansha (black belt) ranks in both Shotokan Karate-do, Eishin ryu Iaijutsu, and with the ABD, Scott renounced his primary focus on those martial arts, and devoted himself to being a To Shin Do BLACK BELT, starting out again at white belt.  Only five months later, his belt got a little blue-r, as did his faithful training partner, (the deceptively agile) Corte Brown, and only 5 more after that, Scott got even more 'fired-up' as he earned his To-Shin Do Red Belt!  But did he stop there?  No, Scott trains 3 to 4 times a week, hardcore, which is why just 6 months after earning his red, he steps now into the realm of Wind, and brandishes a solid green belt!

Now Scott brings the self protective vision of Stephen K. Hayes to the Columbia/Lexington/Gaston Area of the Palmetto State, in hopes to one day open a Quest Center for Secure Living-Minded Ones that recide in the state of "Beautiful Places, and Smiling Faces."   Scott feels at home in his To Shin Do family, and is proud, despite what jealous individuals say (they know who they are) , to call Mr. Stephen K. Hayes...An-Shu.

Nathan M. Poe (Ealey...LOL): Blue-Black Belt

pict0038.jpg

Nathan M. Poe is a living example of hard work and determination. After many grueling months of nighttime training in the 'literal' elements, Nathan has progressed through the To-Shin Do Ninjutsu Belt lineage, and is now the second highest belt level holder in the PNC as of yet!

There were many bumps and bruises along the way during his mastering of Earth element, but now it's safe to say (and if you don't believe me, ask NCQC Instructor Mr. Magers) that Nathan has a 'SOLID FOUNDATION' for improvement in this Visionary Ninja Self Defense Lineage! I, for one, am looking forward to how he improves 'ten-fold' in the watery depths of the To-Shin Do Sui no Kata Curriculum!

David Dorn: White Belt

pict0022.jpg

David Michael Dorn. An 18 year old college student, practicing budo taijutsu off and on for about two years. He has just started taking To Shin Do, although he has trained with Scott since his Junior year in high school. He has taken many martial arts, getting the farthest in a Korean martial art, Kuk Sool Won, and attaining the rank of red belt, two from black. He has found a certain home in the Japanese arts, and hopes to become a master of Kukishinden. Training for years with a bo, it is his weapon of choice, though not practicing weapons yet, he can't wait till the day comes. He is fun and funny, smiling and loves to be close to his friends, who at times are closer than his family. David strives to be a Video Game Developer, as his career and knows he can rise the levels in any martial art he strives for. He is the camera man of the club and helps in developing the website. A Virgo and born in The Year of The Dragon. Lucky ^^
